Morang: The Women Entrepreneurs’ Gallery, established by women entrepreneurs from the Morang district, has become a beacon of hope for struggling women entrepreneurs, creating a platform to further flourish their creativity and enterprises.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the gallery has opened up markets for women entrepreneurs over the past two years, empowering women and promoting tourism. The gallery features artistically produced goods by women entrepreneurs from the Koshi Province. Kriti Shrestha Upadhyay, Vice Chair of the Morang Chapter of the Women Entrepreneurs Association, shared that the gallery serves as a platform for continuous exhibition of goods produced by these entrepreneurs.
The gallery includes a range of products such as handicrafts, goods made from reused materials, decorative items, and local cuisines. These products are crafted by women entrepreneurs from districts including Morang, Sundari, Banke, Bhaktapur, Kathmandu, and Dhankuta, with approximately 50 types of goods displayed.
The gallery has effectively bridged the gap in goods exchange and marketing, according to Shrestha. Its main aim is to promote the products while showcasing the talents of women entrepreneurs, rather than focusing solely on direct sales.
The gallery has also created more opportunities, financial confidence, and timely payments through the direct sale of goods by accepting orders. Shrestha mentioned, “We have offered space to all entrepreneurs including students, startups, and small business holders.” She emphasized that the gallery serves as a ‘live case study,’ ensuring sustainable production and promotion of women entrepreneurs.
