Kathmandu:Nepal The 47th World Tourism Day was observed with various events across the country, marking the occasion on September 27.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation collaborated with the United Nations Tourism and the Nepal Tourism Board to organize an event. A programme was held at the Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management under the slogan, ‘Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism,’ as stated by Ministry Spokesperson Jay Narayan Acharya.
In Bagmati Province, a cycle rally was organized by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Labour and Transport. The rally started at Patan Durbar Square and concluded at Hotel Smart Dhumbarahi, passing through Pulchowk, Kupandole, Maitighar, Jay Nepal, Naxal, and Narayan Gopal Chowk. Tourism Minister Rajendra Prajapati was in attendance, as mentioned by Ministry officer Ambika Ghimire.
Additionally, the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents held the ‘NATTA Heritage Run-2026’ from Basantapur Durbar Square. The event aimed to connect the historical and cultural heritages of Kathmandu and Lalitpur. According to NATTA President Bharat Jung Pandey, the run covered a route from Basantapur to Patan Durbar area, via Bishal Bazaar, New Road Gate, Shahid Gate, and Labim Mall. Tourism entrepreneurs, representatives, and youths participated in the nearly six-kilometer race, as noted by NATTA.
