Youth Murdered in Kalikot, Five Apprehended


Kalikot: A 17-year-old died in a clash between two groups in Khandachakra municipality-10 in the district. The deceased has been identified as Rajesh Shahi, a resident of Chhapre in Tilagupha municipality-7.



According to National News Agency Nepal, two groups of youths allegedly engaged in a scuffle had gathered to observe the Ghar puja (house warming) of a local. The incident, which occurred at night, resulted in Shahi being killed in a Khukuri (a traditional knife) attack. Additionally, Bhupendra Shahi, aged 16, was injured during the altercation.



The incident site is located 35 kilometres away from the district headquarters, Manma. The District Police, led by District Police Chief Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tek Bahadur Rawat, arrived at the scene this morning and arrested five individuals for their alleged involvement in the incident. All those apprehended are below the age of 18.



According to the office’s information officer, Krishna KC, the body has been brought to the district headquarters for a post-mortem examination. Further investigation into the case is currently underway.
