156 Prisoners Yet to Return to Jail in Chitwan


Chitwan: A total of 156 prisoners who fled the District Prison Office Chitwan have not returned to the prison. The prison office stated that despite issuing a notice warning of action against those not returning by October 6, the fugitives remain at large.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Office Chief Rabindra Prasad Dhungana reported that 578 prisoners have returned within the designated timeframe. Communications have been established with the families of 60 of the escapees, but despite these efforts, the remaining prisoners have yet to return.



A large-scale escape took place during the Gen Z Uprising on September 10, resulting in 742 prisoners fleeing the facility.
