16 Teachers Injured After Bus Plunges in Jhapa


Jhapa: Sixteen teachers were injured when a bus carrying them from Kathmandu plunged this morning at Shivasatakshi Municipality-9 in the Jhapa district. The incident occurred at 5:30 AM, involving a bus marked with the number Pra 1-01-001-Kha 42.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Jhapa, Milan Kumar KC, confirmed the accident took place at the Dudhe section of the East-West Highway. The bus was transporting teachers who were reportedly protesting.



The injured teachers are currently receiving medical treatment at Birta City Hospital and B and C Hospital in Jhapa. Among the injured, the condition of teacher Gopal Khatiwada is reported to be critical.
