3 Killed, 20 Injured in Gopalganj Road Accidents


Gopalganj: At least three people, including two college students, were killed and 20 others injured in two separate road accidents on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in Sadar upazila in the district. The first accident occurred around 7:30 am today when a bus collided head-on with a truck in the Goshgati Bus Stand area, resulting in one fatality at the scene and injuring 20 others.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the police have yet to confirm the identity of the deceased from the bus-truck collision. The injured individuals were swiftly taken to Gopalganj 250-bed General Hospital for treatment. In another tragic incident, two college students lost their lives when their motorbike veered into a roadside ditch on Wednesday night in the Gopinathpur area.



The deceased students were identified as Walid Khan, 19, son of Iraj Khan, and Siyam Mollah, 19, son of Humayun Mollah. Both were HSC second-year students and residents of Gopinathpur village under Sadar Upazila. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station Mir Mohammad Sajedur Rahman confirmed the incidents.
