Ganeshman Singh’s 110th Birth Anniversary Marked.


Bhaktapur: The 110th birth anniversary of the supreme leader and iron man, the late Ganeshman Singh was marked in Bhaktapur today. The event commemorated Singh’s significant contributions to the nation’s political landscape and democratic movements.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the Ganeshman Singh Memorial Park and Statue Conservation Committee organized a programme at Katunje based Ganeshman Singh Memorial Batika in Suryabinayak Municipality-5. The event was attended by key political figures and supporters who gathered to pay tribute to Singh’s legacy.

On the occasion, Nepali Congress central member and Bhaktapur central representative Bal Bahadur KC emphasized that not only the party but the entire country should remember the contributions of Ganeshman Singh. His statement underscored Singh’s pivotal role in shaping the political history of Nepal.

Further remarks were made by NC Bhaktapur district president and federal lawmaker Durlabh Thapa, Ganeshman Singh Memorial Park Chair Mathawar Singh
Basnet, and NC Bhaktapur district joint secretary Yadav Adhikari. They highlighted various aspects of Singh’s struggling political career, particularly his leadership during the people’s movement for the restoration of democracy in 2046 BS.

NC leader Singh, renowned as the supreme commander of the people’s movement, notably declined the then King Birendra Shah’s request to become the Prime Minister after the success of the movement. This decision remains a testament to his commitment to democratic principles and his enduring influence in Nepalese politics.
