Tanahun: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung has emphasized that the coalition between the Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN (UML) was established to ensure political stability and maintain fiscal discipline in Nepal. Minister Gurung, who also serves as the assistant general secretary of CPN (UML), highlighted the importance of consensus between the two major political parties during times of national crisis.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Gurung addressed party cadres at a meeting held in the party office in Tanahun on Saturday. He elaborated on the coalition’s objective to alleviate public despair caused by frequent changes in government. Gurung underscored that the alliance between NC and UML seeks to guide the nation towards stability, although he cautioned that immediate miracles should not be expected. He expressed confidence that the economic challenges will be addressed progressively.
Minister Gurung further stated that the government is committe
d to meeting public aspirations and has been taking steps in the right direction. He recalled past collaborations between NC and UML, such as during the promulgation of the constitution and protests against the Panchayat regime. While the two parties are currently united in governance, Gurung noted that they will remain competitors in future elections.
