School Hostel Built with Japanese Support Enhances Student Accessibility.


Lalitpur: A school hostel building constructed with Japanese support was handed over to the school management committee in Lalitpur district on Monday. Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Kikuta Yutaka handed over the state-of-the-art hostel building of Kalidevi Secondary School located in Bagmati Rural Municipality-2 in Lalitpur district to the school management committee.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Ambassador Yutaka stated that the hostel was constructed with an investment of Rs 20.5 million under the Grassroots Human Security Projects of the Japanese Government. During the handover ceremony, Ambassador Yutaka acknowledged the collaborative efforts of all parties involved in the construction of the hostel.

The completion of the hostel marks a significant improvement for students who previously had to endure long walks to attend classes. Ambassador Yutaka expressed his satisfaction with the project, emphasizing its potential impact on the students’ futures. “I am very happy to handover the hostel af
ter its completion. I am confident that this would play a crucial role in making the bright future of the students,” he remarked.

Vice Chairman of Bagmati Rural Municipality, Bhakta Bahadur Darlami, highlighted the extensive impact of the Japanese Government and Embassy’s support. The Kalidevi Secondary School, established in 2019 BS, currently employs 21 teachers and staff, educating a total of 349 students, including 171 girls.
