Winter Clothes, School Bags Distributed in Abu Sayeed’s Memory


Rangpur: Winter clothes and school bags were distributed among the underprivileged people in Pirganj upazila of Rangpur in memory of martyr Abu Sayeed today. The distribution event was held at the Babanpur Kamil Madrasa ground and organized by the research organization ‘Power and Participation Research Center (PPRC)’.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was attended virtually by PPRC Executive Chairman and former advisor to the caretaker government, Dr. Hossain Zillur Rahman, who served as the chief guest. The function was chaired by Shaheed Abu Sayeed’s father, Mokbul Hossain. Special guests included BRAC’s Rangpur District Coordinator AKM Jahidul Islam, PPRC’s Manager of Communication Jayant Pal, and BRAC Advocacy Programme’s Md Musa Mia.



Dr. Hossain Zillur Rahman highlighted that the program aimed to aid cold-stricken individuals by distributing blankets and sheets and to provide educational support to children by offering school bags. He expressed the belief that the initiative would honor the memory of martyr Abu Sayeed and promote social harmony and humanity.



During the event, 400 sheets and 150 blankets were distributed to those affected by the cold, and school bags were given to 120 students.
