Dhaka: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced a significant increase in prize money for the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) winners. Fortune Barishal, which aims to secure their second consecutive BPL title, will face Chittagong Kings in the grand final at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium tomorrow (Friday).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Chittagong Kings, who have never claimed a BPL title, are optimistic about breaking their title drought this year. The champions will be awarded Taka 2.50 crore, an increase of Taka 50,000 from the previous year. The runners-up will receive Taka 1.50 crore, a rise from last year’s Taka 1 crore.
Additionally, the BCB will reward the third and fourth-placed teams with Taka 60 lakh and Taka 40 lakh, respectively, a new initiative compared to previous years. The board has also introduced an award for the Emerging Player of the Tournament, offering Taka 3 lakh. The prize amounts for other categories remain unchanged.
