Patuakhali: Twelve houses and three shops were gutted in a fire at Swanirbhar Road in the district town today. The blaze required immediate intervention from six units of the Patuakhali Fire Station, who, with the assistance of locals and affected individuals, managed to control the fire within an hour, as stated by Md. Mohsin, the assistant director of Patuakhali Fire Service and Civil Defense.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the fire originated from a house around 1:30 pm and quickly spread to the nearby structures. The rapid spread of the fire resulted in significant damage to both residential and commercial properties in the area.
In response to the incident, Deputy Commissioner Abu Hasnat Mohammad Arifin visited the site of the fire. He assured that the affected people would receive necessary support, including food, medicine, financial assistance, and winter clothes, to aid their recovery and provide immediate relief.
