MoU Signed Between CVASU and UVAS for Educational and Research Collaboration


Chattogram: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) and the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) of Pakistan for mutual cooperation in education and research.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the agreement was signed between the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of CVASU and the Faculty of Veterinary Science of UVAS for three years last evening. Khalilur Rahman, Senior Deputy Director of Public Relations and Publication of Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, confirmed the matter today.



The MoU signing ceremony was held virtually. CVASU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman and the Dean (Additional Responsibilities) of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine signed the MoU on behalf of CVASU. Under the agreement, students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of CVASU will have the opportunity to do a one-month internship in Pakistan, with the possibility of renewing the agreement later, as stated by Khalilur Rahman.



CVASU VC Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman mentioned that 91 students of the first semester of the 5th year of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) of CVASU will be divided into two groups and will visit the university in Pakistan in July/August for an internship under this agreement. Similarly, students of the Faculty of Veterinary Science of UVAS in Pakistan will also be able to undertake a one-month internship at CVASU in Bangladesh.



During the internship, CVASU students will undergo clinical practice and hands-on training in medicine and surgery under the supervision of teachers from the Pakistani university. They will also gain practical knowledge about dairy and poultry production by visiting various dairy and poultry farms, hatcheries, and research labs of UVAS.



Similarly, interns coming to CVASU from UVAS will have the opportunity to undergo hands-on training at CVASU’s main campus and the Pet Hospital in Dhaka. Under this agreement, the two universities will exchange research materials, publications, academic information, and will organize joint research programs and academic conferences for the purpose of education, research, and professional development.
