Kathmandu: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has urged stakeholders and officials to focus on selecting projects of national importance while preparing submissions for the fiscal year 2082/83 BS.
According to National News Agency Nepal, during separate discussions with officials from the Ministry of Urban Development and the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Finance Minister Paudel emphasized the importance of mega projects and the roles of provincial and local governments in their development. He highlighted that the federal government should refrain from implementing projects that could be managed by provincial and local authorities, as this would reinforce federalism by distributing rights and responsibilities appropriately.
Minister Paudel also noted that the upcoming budget will be crafted to reflect the needs and aspirations of the people, with consultations involving all relevant parties. This approach aims to ensure that the budget aligns with the national interest and supports the strategic development of the nation.
