Kathmandu: President Ram Chandra Poudel has stated that the Supreme Court should focus on enhancing public confidence in the judiciary by ensuring access to justice and delivering it in a fair, speedy, and accessible manner. He emphasized the importance of these actions while receiving the annual reports of the Supreme Court, Judicial Council, and Judicial Service Commission.
According to National News Agency Nepal, President Poudel expressed confidence that the critical issues highlighted in the reports would be addressed to meet constitutional and legal obligations as per the Constitution. He acknowledged the role played by all levels of courts and judicial bodies, including the Supreme Court, in the ongoing campaign to provide justice to all.
President Poudel also advised that the judiciary should strengthen its role in the future to ensure judicial impartiality and effective justice delivery. He underscored the necessity for the judiciary to take active steps in maintaining and enhancing public trust in its operations and decisions.
