Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has announced that efforts are underway under the Mahakali Corridor to establish road connectivity linking Lipulek Limpiyadhura.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Prime Minister, responding to a query from legislator Binita Kathayat, detailed the construction progress of a 43-kilometer road section from Darchula to Tusharpani, which is part of the Brhamadev-Jhulaghat-Darchula-Tinker connectivity project. He highlighted that the Nepal Army is actively engaged in constructing a 79-kilometer track from Tusharpani to Tinker point, with approximately 12 kilometers of the track already completed. Oli expressed confidence that the remaining work would be finished soon.
In addition, the Prime Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing health services for the citizens of Karnali through the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences. Addressing a question from Bimala Subedi, he assured that the government is prioritizing the completion of the peace process, including the appointment of office bearers at the Commission on the Enforced Disappeared Persons and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. “The government is sensitive about the urgency to ensure transitional justice,” he stated, referencing the third amendment to the relevant acts.
Prime Minister Oli also informed the House about initiatives to involve the private sector in the operation and management of the Bancharedanda Sanitary Landfill Site, located along the border of Nuwakot and Dhading district. This project, he noted, will be implemented at the local level under a public-private partnership model.
