Bajura: The District Disaster Management Committee has announced the release of the second tranche of grants to local governments for the reconstruction of residences damaged by a recent earthquake. Chief District Officer and Chairperson of the Disaster Management Committee, Meghnath Padhya, confirmed the decision to allocate funds received from the Ministry of Home Affairs to various municipalities and rural municipalities.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the funds will be distributed to 1,473 victims of the earthquake. Among the nine municipalities in the district, Himali and Jaganna rural municipalities have yet to receive the funds intended for the earthquake-affected residents.
Additionally, funds have been allocated to assist those impacted by monsoon-related disasters. The District Administration Office, Bajura, has made preparations to release the funds to Budhiganga rural municipality, Triveni municipality, Gaumul rural municipality, and other municipalities.
