Demands of Tharu, Muslims Will Be Addressed: PM Oli

Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has announced that the concerns regarding reservation for communities such as the Tharu and Muslims will be addressed with the promulgation of the Federal Civil Service Act.

According to National News Agency Nepal, during a Q and A session in the House of Representatives, lawmaker Bina Kumari Thanait raised concerns about the lack of separate reservation arrangements for the Tharu community and the delay in the promulgation of the civil service act. In response, PM Oli clarified that clause-wise discussions are ongoing in the State Affairs Committee on a bill aimed at managing the formation, operation, and conditions of service for the Federal Civil Service, 2080.

PM Oli assured the House that the Tharu community has been provided opportunities for reservation within the civil service act by categorizing them under the indigenous community. He emphasized that the principle of inclusion has been consistently applied in appointing individuals to various public positions since the formation of the current government.
