Kathmandu: Former President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav has highlighted the importance of focusing on preventive measures rather than curative approaches to control the spread of diseases. He emphasized the significance of raising awareness about adopting a healthy lifestyle as a means to avoid diseases.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Dr. Yadav, a medical doctor, addressed these points while speaking at a program organized to mark the ninth anniversary of the Swasthya Darpan Media Network. He pointed out that preventive efforts have not met expectations and stressed that an unhealthy lifestyle is a key contributor to diseases. He also noted the crucial role of the media in educating the public about these issues.
Senior nephrologist Dr. Rishi Kumar Kafle also spoke at the event, stating that poor dietary habits are a major cause of diseases and that lifestyle changes are essential for maintaining good health.
During the occasion, 14 doctors, five health workers, one media person, and four organizations were honored with the ‘Swasthya Darpan National Health Award 2081’.
