Namobuddha: Namobuddha municipality in the district has conducted a scheme, ‘respect for labour: a national campaign’, under the Prime Minister Employment Programme. Training on plumbing and masonry skills were provided to 50 youths- male and female- in the first phase. They were provided 50-day training.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the programme was run under the conditional grants provided to the local levels so that youths would be skilled and get employments. They would also foster self-entrepreneurship, according to Amrit Khanal, employment coordinator at Namobuddha municipality.
The people aged 18 to 59 and staying in the municipality were catered the field-based skills. The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Sociality run the programme. Earlier, 65 people were provided temporary job- for 100 days at ward level.
