Kathmandu: The winter session of the House of Representatives (HoR) concluded today with the endorsement of a condolence motion following the death of legislator Deepak Bohara.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Speaker Devraj Ghimire introduced the condolence motion during today’s session, which received unanimous approval. Bohara, who was affiliated with the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), passed away at the age of 76. He had been battling various illnesses over the past three years and died while receiving treatment at Om Hospital.
During the session, the Speaker also provided updates on lawmakers who were absent from the HoR winter session ten times or more for various reasons. Additionally, he informed the attendees about a letter from the Office of the President regarding the prorogation of the Federal Parliament’s current session, effective from midnight.
A recent meeting by the Council of Ministers had decided to recommend to President Ramchandra Paudel the prorogation of the current session of both houses of parliament, effective from midnight. Consequently, the Speaker announced the prorogation of the HoR session from midnight today.
