Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and his Bhutanese counterpart Tshering Tobgay held a meeting today during the 6th Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) Summit. The leaders took the opportunity to engage in discussions aimed at enhancing bilateral relations and exploring avenues for cooperation between their countries.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the meeting provided a platform for both leaders to recall their previous encounter in New York on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in September of the previous year. The two leaders discussed several aspects of mutual cooperation, emphasizing the importance of continued dialogue and collaboration between Nepal and Bhutan.
The meeting was attended by key figures from the Nepali side, including Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister Bishnu Prasad Rimal, and Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Amrit Bahadur Rai. Their presence highlighted the significance of the discussions and the commitment of both nations to fostering stronger ties through the BIMSTEC framework.
