Kathmandu: The Committee for the Recommendation of the Names of the Chairperson and Members of the transitional justice mechanisms has invited the public to share their opinions and suggestions on the process for selecting office-bearers. This committee was established by the government to propose names for the leadership of the Commission for Investigation of Enforced Disappeared Persons (CIEDP) and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC).
According to National News Agency Nepal, the committee is seeking public feedback on a draft outlining the Selection Process for recommending names for the Chairperson and Members of the two commissions. This draft is accessible on the websites of the CIEDP and TRC, as well as on the notice board of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
Dr. Lily Thapa, the committee’s spokesperson, stated that suggestions and feedback on the draft should be submitted by April 10.
