Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has extended his greetings on the occasion of Ram Nawami and Chaite Dashain festival today. In a message shared on his social media account, Prime Minister Oli acknowledged the cultural and spiritual significance of these festivals.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Prime Minister Oli emphasized the ideals represented by Lord Ram as depicted in the ancient scripture, the Ramayana. He noted that Ram, who was born in the Treta Yuga, exemplifies peace, justice, religion, morality, order, good governance, and dutifulness. Oli highlighted that in ancient civilizations, regions governed effectively were often referred to as Ram Rajya, a term synonymous with good governance. He further stated that Ram’s choice to walk the path of dignity over popularity has made him an ideal human being with supreme dignity.
The Ram Nawami festival, which is celebrated on the ninth day of the first full moon of Chaitra in the Lunar Calendar, is being observed today by worshippers of Lord Shri Ramchandra. The festival holds immense cultural and religious importance, marking the birth of Lord Ram and celebrating his virtues and contributions to society.
