Kathmandu: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakashman Singh, highlighted the pivotal role of former Indian Prime Minister Chandrashekhar in strengthening Nepal-India relations. At an interaction organized by the Ganeshman Singh Foundation, Singh, who is also a leader of the Nepali Congress (NC), praised Chandrashekhar’s contributions to fostering bilateral ties.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Singh emphasized the warm and close relationship between Chandrashekhar and Ganeshman Singh, noting their significant roles in political change in the region. He remarked that Chandrashekhar’s involvement in the success of the 2046 BS People’s Movement was particularly noteworthy.
NC leader Dr. Prakashsharan Mahat also spoke at the event, recalling Chandrashekhar’s supportive stance towards Nepal during his tenure as Prime Minister of India. Dr. Mahat highlighted the cordial relationship Chandrashekhar had with BP Koirala and recounted the influential speech Chandrashekhar delivered at a program held at Ganeshman Singh’s home in Chaksibari.
