Kathmandu: The National Forum of Photojournalists (NFPJ Nepal) met with President Ramchandra Paudel at Sheetal Niwas today. The meeting was led by NFPJ Chair Pradeep Raj Onta, who discussed several issues, including the contributions of photojournalists and the security challenges they face while capturing photos and news on the front lines.
According to National News Agency Nepal, President Paudel emphasized the importance of the state and media organizations in assuming responsibility to reduce risks and ensure the safety of photojournalists working in the field. He acknowledged the crucial role that photojournalists play in enhancing societal awareness and increasing the credibility and accuracy of news.
During the meeting, NFPJ Nepal Chair Onta appealed to President Paudel for assistance in providing life insurance and other benefits to improve the safety and security of photojournalists across the country.
