Maoist Centre Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal Calls for Political Unity on Budhigandaki Hydropower Project

Gorakha: Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has asserted that achieving political consensus is crucial for the construction of the Budhigandaki Hydropower Project, which holds significant national importance. He made this statement during the inauguration of the Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality building in Gorakha.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Dahal emphasized that the project will proceed regardless of the circumstances. He attributed the delays in its construction to uncertainties regarding the project’s modalities and resource management. Reflecting on his tenure as Prime Minister, Dahal expressed concern over the hardships faced by the people due to these delays and reiterated ongoing efforts to advance the project.

Dahal highlighted the improved infrastructure of municipal buildings following the implementation of the federal governance system and urged that the services provided should be focused on tangible results. He called for unity among pro-republican parties to counter attempts that challenge the federal democratic republic. Dahal suggested that the State should prioritize economic development, social justice, and good governance.

Furthermore, during an event in Chitwan, Dahal underscored the necessity for republican forces to unite in defense of the republic and the constitution. He also advocated for State-level initiatives to prevent the emigration of youth abroad.
