During a stone-laying ceremony for the new Trauma and Emergency Centre at Dhulikhel Hospital, Minister Paudel emphasized the importance of partnership, noting the government’s recent policy revisions aimed at integrating community hospitals into national healthcare strategies.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Paudel highlighted the inclusion of community hospitals in the upcoming budget, stressing that collaborative efforts could significantly enhance the health sector. He mentioned that while the government has introduced various schemes to improve healthcare services, there is an ongoing effort to secure the necessary resources for their implementation.

Minister Paudel also underscored the importance of strengthening the state’s capacity to invest in healthcare and called for exploring alternatives to the current insurance schemes. Meanwhile, Matsuzaki Mizuki, the Chief Representative of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Nepal, shared that JICA has been actively involved in Nepal’s health and education sectors, reflecting the longstanding friendship between Japan and Nepal since 1970.

JICA has committed a grant of 3.60 billion Japanese Yen for the construction of the Trauma and Emergency Centre, covering 60 percent of the construction costs and 40 percent of the medical equipment expenses. The Centre will feature an ICU, three operation theaters, HDU, lab, pharmacy, and parking facilities.
