Kathmandu: The government has decided to increase the monthly dearness allowance for civil servants by Rs 3,000, bringing the total to Rs 5,000. This announcement was made by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel during the unveiling of the budget for the fiscal year 2025/026.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Paudel highlighted that the pressure on resource management has prevented an increase in the salaries of civil servants. While presenting the annual revenue and expenditure estimate for the upcoming fiscal year 2025/026 in a joint session of the federal parliament, Paudel acknowledged, “Although there was a need to increase incentives to the civil servants in a timely manner, the pressure on resource made it impossible to increase salaries as expected.”
