Chair Oli Instructs ANWA to Increase Participation of Young Women

Kathmandu: Prime Minister and CPN (UML) chair KP Sharma Oli has urged the leadership of the All Nepal Women’s Association (ANWA) to ensure at least 40 percent of its members are women under the age of 40. This call to action was made during his address at the plenary meeting of the central committee of ANWA.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Chair Oli emphasized the importance of mobilizing a nationwide campaign to unite 40 percent of women under 40 and at least 30 percent of women under 30 within the organization. He highlighted the necessity of establishing ANWA as a loyal, capable, and active body, rejecting the notion of supporting women of any ideology in the name of feminism.

Oli further noted Nepal’s progress in women’s leadership on the international stage, citing the country’s achievement in electing a woman as President for two terms and ensuring a minimum of 33 percent female participation in all state organs. He also encouraged women to join the Mission 2084 campaign, which aims to empower Nepal’s journey towards development, good governance, and prosperity by establishing UML as a force capable of securing a single majority.
