Ramechap: The third edition of the Sailung Ultramarathon is set to take place in the Ramechap district on June 14. The event will feature an open 55-kilometer Ultramarathon alongside a five-kilometer race for both men and women, as announced by Lal Bahadur Magar, chair of the Sunapati Sailung Ultramarathon Committee, during a press conference.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Ultramarathon will begin at Sandi Danda in Sunapati municipality-3. The route will take participants through several notable landmarks, including Sunapati Danda, Lahere Mane, Bhage Danda, Khanda Devi Temple, Galpa Bhanjyang, Agleshwor Danda, Doramba Bazaar, Sahid Park, Danda Kateri, Ghale Danda, and Doramba Sailung, concluding in Sailung of Ward No. 1.
The event organizers have announced cash prizes for the top five finishers in the 55-kilometer race for both men and women. The winners will receive Rs 100,000 each, while the runners-up will earn Rs 50,000. The third-place finishers will receive Rs 25,000, followed by Rs 10,000 for fourth place and Rs 5,000 for fifth place. Approximately 150 athletes are expected to participate in the competition.
