Kathmandu: Today’s meeting of the House of Representatives successfully passed the ‘Information Technology and Cyber Security Bill-2082’ with unanimous support.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the proposal for the bill’s passage was initially tabled in yesterday’s session but could not advance due to a lack of quorum, as confirmed by Speaker Devraj Ghimire. He also noted that a scheduled programme to table a bill related to maritime affairs was removed from the agenda for this session.
In an earlier segment of the session, during a special hour, Sita Mijar of the Nepali Congress highlighted the ongoing struggles faced by Dalits and underprivileged communities in the face of natural disasters. She emphasized that many individuals from these groups continue to be unable to fully exercise their constitutionally guaranteed rights.
The House of Representatives is scheduled to reconvene at 1:00 pm on August 20.
