Nepali Cricket Team to Play Practice Matches in Australia to Prepare for ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier


Kathmandu: The Nepali national cricket team is gearing up for a series of practice matches in Australia against teams from the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and South Australia. These matches are part of their strategic preparation for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has disclosed that the team will engage in five matches between August 26 and August 30. The schedule includes two matches against ACT on August 26, followed by two matches against South Australia on August 28. The matches are scheduled to start at 4:45 am and 9:45 am Nepali time on both days.



Additionally, the team will conclude their practice series with a one-day match against South Australia on August 30, set to begin at 5:45 am Nepali time. These practice games are designed to provide the Nepali squad with crucial exposure and experience ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier.



Before these matches, the Nepali team will participate in the Top End T20 Series in Darwin, Australia, from August 14 to 24. This series and the subsequent practice matches form a critical part of Nepal’s preparation strategy for the qualifier event, which is scheduled to take place in Oman this October.
