Jhapa: Both imports and exports from the Kakarbhitta customs point in Jhapa district decreased in the first month of the current fiscal year 2082/83 BS, the customs officials shared.
According to National News Agency Nepal, in the month of Sawan, goods worth Rs 3.69 billion were imported, a decline from Rs 3.88 billion in the same month of the previous year, as reported by Customs Officer Ishwar Kumar Humagain. Similarly, exports saw a downturn, with goods worth Rs 1.54 billion exported during the month of Sawan, compared to more than Rs 1.80 billion in the same month last year.
Despite the decline in trade volume, revenue collection in the last month witnessed an increase of Rs 151.8 million compared to the same month of the last fiscal year, with the previous year’s revenue collection recorded at Rs 113.2 million.
