Butwal: Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ emphasized the importance of unity among communist parties for the country’s benefit. He expressed that the split within the party had contributed to its reduced influence.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Prachanda addressed the seventh plenum of the CPN (Maoist Centre) Lumbini Province Committee in Butwal, highlighting that the unity between the UML and Maoist Centre was unsustainable due to leadership issues. He asserted that the party would have remained united if the leadership had been under the Maoist Centre post-unification, but the main leadership was instead held by the UML, leading to the party’s division.
During the event, Prachanda also discussed how misinformation campaigns were being aimed at Maoist leaders to create confusion among the public. He noted that the communist movement was moving towards unity and predicted that polarization would increase in other parties. He stated that the Maoist Centre could take the lead if the party pursued its goals vigorously.
Several Maoist Centre leaders, including Barsha Man Pun, Chakrapani Khanal, and Sudarshan Baral Magar, also shared their perspectives during the meeting.
