Chandrauta: Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Ramnath Adhikari has announced that urea fertilizer will be readily available from India within the next ten days. During an event held in Chandrauta, he stated that the fertilizer, imported from Kolkata, is expected to arrive within seven to ten days, ensuring easy access for farmers.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Adhikari assured that there would be no shortage of fertilizer this time around. He highlighted the importance of distributing fertilizer based on the area of arable land and district production levels. The Minister stressed the need to prioritize genuine farmers in the distribution process to prevent economic losses for those cultivating large areas.
Abdul Kalam, district president of the Nepali Congress and mayor of Maharajgunj municipality, also spoke at the event, underscoring the necessity of an effective government fertilizer distribution system. Additionally, the district vice president of the NC, Umakant Khanal, proposed the development of plans to provide farmers with fertilizers, seeds, and other materials before the onset of the rainy season starting next year.
