Baitadi: A landslide triggered by heavy rain at Chaupata of Sunarya Rural Municipality-2 in Baitadi district buried a house on Sunday afternoon. The two-storied house, owned by Girish Chand, suffered significant damage, as confirmed by Police Inspector Balaram Pandey.
According to National News Agency Nepal, 90-year-old Godawari Chand was critically injured during the incident. She was trapped inside the house when the landslide struck and was subsequently transported to the district hospital. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was later referred to Dadeldhura Hospital for further treatment.
In addition to the human toll, the landslide also resulted in the death of 13 animals, including cows and goats, further exacerbating the impact of the disaster on the affected family and community.
