Beijing: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Pham Minh Chinh, engaged in a bilateral meeting today. Both leaders are currently in China to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the discussion between the two Prime Ministers revolved around the cultural, diplomatic, and economic relations and cooperation between Nepal and Vietnam. During the meeting, Prime Minister Chinh mentioned the recent visit of Vietnam’s Vice President, Vo Thi Anh Xuan, to Nepal and extended an invitation to Prime Minister Oli for an official visit to Vietnam.
Prime Minister Oli expressed Nepal’s support for Vietnam’s movement for freedom and highlighted Vietnam’s rapid progress as an inspiration. He mentioned that Nepal is set to graduate to a developing country next year and encouraged investment in Nepal’s energy sector. In return, Prime Minister Oli invited Prime Minister Chinh to visit Nepal, further strengthening the ties between the two nations.
