Kathmandu: Former President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav has emphasized that sustainable development goals should encompass more than just economic and physical development. He highlighted the necessity of integrating education, social progress, and technological advancement in achieving these objectives.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Dr. Yadav conveyed his views during an International Seminar on Interdisciplinary Studies for Sustainable Development. He stressed the importance of transformative leadership that prioritizes societal welfare and social justice. Additionally, he called upon the youth to embrace roles of responsible and visionary leadership.
Dr. Achyut Wagle, Vice Chancellor of Kathmandu University, remarked that interdisciplinary studies enable students to engage in multi-dimensional thinking, foster innovation, and strengthen community connections.
Programme Chair Badri Dev Pande expressed that international seminars like this one inspire young individuals to pursue transformative leadership paths.
Madhav Neupane, Principal of National College, noted that the two-day seminar held on September 4-5 facilitated extensive discussions on sustainable development. The discussions centered on interdisciplinary approaches, the relationship between education and the community, and the sustainability of digitalization.
The seminar witnessed participation from representatives of various educational institutions, researchers, students, and social workers.
