Home Minister Emphasizes Timely and Quality Infrastructure Development


Kanchanpur: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has emphasized the need for contractors to ensure quality in infrastructure construction and adhere to project timelines. Speaking at the 28th annual general meeting and the 15th convention of the Contractors’ Association of Kanchanpur, the minister highlighted the financial implications of project delays on infrastructure development.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the Home Minister stated that delays in completing development activities have led to significant increases in project costs, sometimes up to 200 percent. He acknowledged that the responsibility for such delays should not rest solely on construction entrepreneurs. The minister assured the audience that the government is committed to addressing the challenges facing the construction sector, including issues related to quality maintenance and project delays.



The minister further emphasized the government’s focus on accelerating development through policy and legal reforms, good governance, and the elimination of impunity. He reiterated the government’s aim to revive the economy and urged construction entrepreneurs to undertake development activities with confidence.
