Injured Gen Z Protestors Urge Prime Minister to Prevent Wasted Sacrifices


Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sushila Karki on Saturday visited the Civil Service Hospital in Minbhawan to meet individuals injured during the recent Gen Z protests. The visit aimed to assess the health condition of the injured protestors and understand their concerns.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the Executive Director of the Hospital, Prof Dr Mohan Chandra Regmi, stated that PM Karki interacted with the injured individuals to understand their health status. During the conversation, the injured protestors expressed their worries, emphasizing that their sacrifices for the nation should not be squandered.



The injured individuals voiced their hope that the Prime Minister would resolve the ongoing deadlock and ensure that future generations do not need to resort to protests. PM Karki, in response, assured them of her commitment to making every effort to bring about positive changes in the country’s situation.



Prof Dr Regmi reported that since Monday, the hospital had received a total of 457 patients related to the protests. Of these, 44 patients were referred to other hospitals, while 364 were discharged after receiving treatment. Currently, 11 protestors remain hospitalized, with the condition of one being critical. Additionally, six protestors succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment at the Civil Service Hospital.
