Kathmandu: The CPN (UML) has urged likeminded political forces to collaborate in defense of the constitution and the federal democratic republic system. Issuing a press statement today, UML General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel emphasized the need for continued dialogue, understanding, and collaboration to safeguard the nation’s constitution, democratic republic, and other achievements of the people’s movements amid the unusual political situation in the country.
According to National News Agency Nepal, General Secretary Pokhrel stated that Nepal has entered a new stage of politics following the appointment of Sushila Karki as the Prime Minister and the dissolution of the House of Representatives by the President on the recommendation of the Prime Minister. He added that the UML is taking the recent political developments seriously.
The UML has also called for a fair investigation into the protests that occurred on September 8 and 9 and has urged that the perpetrators be brought under the legal system.
