Kathmandu: The Home Ministry has declared a public holiday on Wednesday as a national mourning day to honor the individuals who lost their lives during the Gen-Z protest.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the announcement was made by Ministry spokesperson Anand Kafle via a press note on Tuesday. The decision for the public holiday follows a Cabinet meeting held on September 15. The protests, which took place on September 8 and 9, led to the loss of several lives.
The government has also decided to hoist the national flag at half mast at all government offices, Nepali embassies, and missions abroad as a mark of respect.
