Kathmandu: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) is set to initiate festival-focused market monitoring from next week. This decision comes after a short delay due to widespread Gen Z protests that occurred across the country on September 8 and 9.
According to National News Agency Nepal, KMC’s assistant spokesperson Dhruba Kumar Kafle mentioned that the monitoring for market management, particularly with the Dashain festival approaching, was postponed due to the ongoing protests. He stated that KMC conducts market monitoring with the participation of a federal team and security forces. Kafle emphasized that since government mechanisms are still in the process of returning to normalcy after the protests, the monitoring efforts are slated to begin next week.
