Two Dead, One Injured in Sarlahi Jeep-Motorbike Collision


Sarlahi: Two motorcyclists died and another sustained injuries when a Scorpio jeep hit the motorbike in Sarlahi. The accident took place on the postal road section at Brahmapuri rural municipality-5 in the southern bordering area of the district.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Ankit Chaudhary, 23, and Rohit Sahani, 25, of Brahmapuri rural municipality-2 were killed while Shiva Shanker Pandit sustained injuries in the accident. Police informed that the Bhelhi-bound Scorpio jeep with Indian number plate (MH 04 DJ 1297) from Parsa had hit the motorbike (Pradesh 3-03-001 Pa 7575) where the three youths were traveling.



Critically injured Pandit is being treated at LS Neuro Hospital, Bara, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at Sarlahi Police, Saroj Rai informed. Injured Chaudhary and Sahani, who were rushed to Ramjanaki Hospital Janakpur, were pronounced dead at the hospital.



Police have impounded the Scorpio and motorbike for investigation. The absconding Scorpio driver is being searched for, DSP Rai said.
