Govt Focuses on Corruption Control and Social Justice, Says PM Karki

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has emphasized the government’s commitment to social justice and good governance, highlighting corruption control as a key priority. In her address to the nation on Thursday evening, PM Karki outlined her administration’s focus as she leads the interim government tasked with holding elections to the House of Representatives on March 5.

According to National News Agency Nepal, this was PM Karki’s first national address since assuming office. She urged civil employees to ensure efficient and prompt public service delivery and announced the establishment of hotlines in all government offices, including the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, to facilitate public complaints. The hotlines are intended to offer citizens a platform to voice grievances related to public services.

PM Karki clarified that any amendments to the constitution would only be addressed through the parliament with representatives of the people. She mentioned the government’s operations were aligned with the spirit of Gen-Z struggle and called for cooperation from all relevant parties to ensure government success.

In an effort to optimize resource allocation for the fiscal year, PM Karki announced the termination of small-scale and haphazard projects. She also disclosed the creation of a reconstruction fund aimed at gathering resources to rebuild infrastructures damaged during protests. The Prime Minister appealed to civil servants to refrain from activities that could demotivate their peers, urging them instead to focus on delivering improved public services.
