Kathmandu: Chief of Madhes Province Sumitra Subedi Bhandari has accepted the resignation submitted by the Province Chief Minister Jitendra Prasad Sonar ‘Sonal’ today.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Province Chief approved the resignation submitted by Sonal from the position of Chief Minister, in accordance with Article 169, Clause (1), Sub-clause (A) of the Constitution of Nepal. This was confirmed in a press release issued by the Office of the Province Chief.
A statement issued by Secretary Shatrudhan Yadav on behalf of the Office of the Provincial Chief mentioned that, in accordance with sub-section (3) of Article 169 of the Constitution of Nepal, the current Council of Ministers has been assigned to continue their duties until further arrangements are made.
