Kathmandu: Faf du Plessis of Biratnagar Kings has completed a record half-century in the second edition of the Nepal Premier League. He scored a half-century off 19 balls against Sudurpaschim Royals, becoming the player to hit a quick half-century.
According to National News Agency Nepal, earlier, Bhim Sarki from Kathmandu Gorkhas had also completed a half-century against Pokhara Avengers in just 19 balls. Foreign player Harmit Singh, who joined Sudurpaschim Royals this season, had also scored a half-century off 19 balls against Kathmandu. Last season, Jimmy Neesham of Janakpur Bolts held the record for scoring a half-century in just 18 balls.
The number of half-centuries in the ongoing second edition of NPL in the capital has reached 33 so far. Sam Hazzlett of Biratnagar Kings hit the 33rd half-century today against Sudurpaschim Royals. Twenty-nine players have scored this many half-centuries.
In the ongoing second season of NPL, Ravi Bopara of Chitwan Rhinos has scored three half-centuries, while Kushal Bhurtel of Pokhara Avengers and Priyank Panchal of Karnali Yaks have scored two half-centuries each. Only Mark Watt of Karnali and Adam Rossington of Pokhara have scored centuries in the ongoing tournament.
