Kathmandu: Karnali Yaks has set a victory target of 130 runs to Janakpur Bolts in the final match of league round under the ongoing second edition of Nepal Premier League (NPL). Karnali Yaks, which was put into bat first after losing the toss, made 129 runs in 20 overs at the loss of nine wickets in the match played at the Kirtipur-based TU International Cricket Ground on Sunday.
According to National News Agency Nepal, it was Imran Sheikh who made the highest runs for Karnali Yaks, contributing 33 runs to the total. For Janakpur Bolts, Aditya Mahta and Lalit Rajbanshi were the most successful bowlers, each taking two wickets, restricting Karnali Yaks to a modest total.
Janakpur Bolts and Karnali Yaks are competing in this match for pride, as both teams have already been eliminated from the tournament. Each team has managed to collect two points from their six matches played so far.
In other developments within the tournament, Sudurpaschim Royals and Biratnagar Kings have progressed to the qualifier match, while Kathmandu Gorkhas and Lumbini Lions have secured their spots in the eliminator round.
