Kathmandu: Finance Minister Rameshore Khanal has confirmed that the election to the House of Representatives will proceed on the slated date with the agreement of all parties and the participation of the general public. Inaugurating the 16th annual general meeting of the Nepal Association of Financial Journalists, the Finance Minister emphasized the government’s active involvement in ensuring the election’s success as part of its responsibilities.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Khanal stated that discussions with stakeholders are ongoing to ensure a fear-free and impartial election with significant public participation. He warned that failing to conduct the election on the scheduled date could lead to uncertainty and instability in the country.
The Finance Minister also highlighted the importance of the private sector in economic progress, stating that the structures and properties created by the private sector are assets of the Nepali people and should be protected. He noted the government’s readiness to take action against any criminal activities and warned of the negative economic impacts of any wrong actions against industrialists.
Khanal further mentioned the government’s ongoing efforts to promote transparent governance and service delivery, aligning with the sentiments of Gen Z protests.
